These are a few of my most favorite things:
- Snuggling in bed during a midday thunderstorm
- Fresh, clean, tightly-tucked-in sheets on the bed
- Having a craving for some specific food and satisfying it
- Smooth, freshly-shaved legs (my own, of course)
- Organizing
- Freshly vacuumed carpets
- My pair of pjs that have the lemons on them and the sign that says “freshly squeezed” right across the rear
- Everything about Christmas: the smell, the decorations, the atmosphere, the presents, the food, the church services, the Christmas carols, the cold, the crowds, the annual celebration at my grandparents’ house and at my in-laws house, the “reason for the season”
- Dressing up in my favorite fancy black dress
- Eating Godiva chocolate cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory
- Getting a facial after getting a massage
- Reading and re-reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma
- Cooking, watching the Food Network, or taking a cooking class
- Receiving a word of truth from my beloved husband every night before we go to sleep
- Finding “aha” moments in the Word of God
- Studying relationships and people
- Laughing with Michael
- Watching my husband’s face light up when something delights him
- Hearing my husband giggle

Speaking of my favorite things…yesterday the Cheesecake Factory was celebrating an anniversary or something so they were offering any slice of cheesecake for $1.50! On a whim, we flew over there! After 20 minutes of hunting down a parking space, we were told it would be a 1.5-2 hr. wait. So we shopped around the Green Hills Mall and within an hour and twenty minutes, we were seated and on our way to cheesecake heaven. Mmmm…it was so good.
