Go Tigers!!

Tonight the Tigers play in the National Championship game. Michael couldn’t be more excited. It’s all he’s been able to talk or think about for weeks now.

I’m so glad that Memphis won on Saturday. Michael had planned to take me to dinner after the game, and I just knew that date was going to be cancelled if they lost.

I’ve never been a big fan of basketball. Football I can do. But basketball? Ughhh. But since Michael is a die-hard Tiger fan, so I’ve been forced to endure some games (just as he’s been forced to endure every Jane Austen movie that has ever been produced). I have to make a confession: something has happened to me over the last few months, and now I find myself a reformed woman. Memphis has actually made it fun to watch basketball. And it’s not just because they keep winning. They’re just plain fun to watch. I love it when they get the ball and race down to the other side of the court and slam in a basket. The energy, the momentum…you can sense it through the tv. It’s such a rush. So I’m looking forward to the game tonight.

Right after we moved to Nashville last year, it didn’t take long for us to realize that there are not many Memphis fans around here. Up in these parts, it’s all about UT. There’s so much orange! But we won’t be swayed. We’ll always bleed blue. GO TIGERS!
